Online Learning Overview & Course DescriptionSYSTEMATIC APPROACHAt Ingaugement.com every online class we have uses content and approaches designed to help you improve employee engagement.
ONLINE TOOL(s)Ingaugement.com uses a Course Management System (CMS) which is also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or is known in some circles as a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It is a tool used by millions of users and thousands of educators in academic and corporate environments. Our system has very robust capabilities and our courses take advantage of those capabilities by using:
COURSE INTERACTION METHODAll of our classes are designed using a "social constructionist" methodology. In plain English, that just means that everything you read, see, hear, feel and touch is designed to be tested against your prior knowledge. Meaning, you learn by contrasting and comparing what you're being presented against what you already know. In addition, our "constructionist" approach means that learning is particularly effective when you are not just a passive listener but when you are constructing something for others to experience. This is what each of our classes is designed to do; ask you to interact in such a way that you are "teaching back" to yourself and others. Our classes are designed to be attended or, "logged into" usually over a week or two. We design this so you leave, come back and are then required to remember, reassert and reconnect what you received in prior sessions. This is a form of repetition and creates learning that stays with you. INSTRUCTORS-To be or not to be?Want an instructor led class? Or, would you prefer to self pace? You can choose which method you prefer. The design of our classes allows students to interact with each other if you choose our "self-paced" class approach. All the students enrolled in your class simultaneously will be able to post comments, questions, opinions, and every other student can view and/or respond to them. Your videos, assignments and tests all function within the Course Management System. The tool even automatically grades your test and your results are available immediately for review. If you choose an "instructor led" class then its very much like the traditional classroom. An instructor is present, giving out additional assignments, asking questions, answering others. The instructor is available during normal "office hours" for questions, guidance and feedback. Have a question regarding how something might apply in your organization? Post it to the forum to see how others have solved that problem, or ask the instructor for guidance. Our feedback from other students and customers tells us that this is an effective and valuable way to learn new content and skills. We think you'll agree. In addition to self paced and instructor led online learning, we offer face to face training to supplement and/or expedite organizational learning. Our Training ProgramsLINKLINK helps individuals identify, develop, refine, and deliver the common elements that create a feeling of connection in the workplace. Research proves that people who feel connected to their supervisor and peers are more engaged, enjoy their work more and deliver higher results long term. This LINK course helps employees understand the two main aspects of feeling connected to those in the workplace; first, the professional aspect which includes how you see your role, scope, communication, objectives and performance. Second, the personal aspect which includes how you, your boss and peers view all the aspects of our work that we cannot define on the professional side. This course is NOT a course on how to "manage up". It does include some elements of managing your "personal brand"; however, we draw a distinction between managing up, which we believe can easily include manipulation and your brand which is an outcome of your behaviors, your feedback and your development. INVOLVEINVOLVE is one of the key elements that increases employee engagement. Employees describe it as "the feeling that my opinions matter and make a difference." When people feel like active participants, they act with more freedom and stop "following orders." They feel their work can make a difference, so they try to! RECOGNITIONRECOGNITION is primarily separated into two distinct areas. First, non-financial and next financial. Recognition includes reward mechanisms also. NURTURENURTURE is a very deliberate mindset approach we use for development of the individual. Nurture has a very strong "win/win" approach for both the employee and the company. We refer to it as nurture rather than development because this brings in two distinct elements that are critical to a learning (LIRNing) organization. First, we want to communicate that we are GROWING someone, NOT building someone. Growth takes the right environment and the right ingredients. Next, growth has elements of time and "seasons". Sometimes the person is ready when the business isn't and vice/versa. So nurturing takes a longer view than development and tries to align multiple priorities. Emotional IntelligenceEmotional Intelligence is the capacity for recognizing your feelings and those of others, for motivating yourself, and for managing emotions well in yourself and in your relationships. Emotional intelligence is a skill set that can be developed. Mindset(s)Mindset(s) go far beyond attitude. Attitudes are one-dimensional while mindset(s) are multi-dimensional. Mindset(s) involve thinking, behaviors, time and skills. Mindset(s) helps individuals to define, recognize, compare and contrast "paradigms" or mindsets that people bring into every situation. A foundation of mindset provides visibility into how employees are thinking. This is the first step to identify behaviors that can improve organizational engagement, productivity and performance. We teach you how to empower employees and develop their engagement and ownership mindset(s). Constructive CommunicationConstructive Communication® is designed to help people who need to have conversations with these elements: Differing opinions; you hold one view, the other person(s) hold a different view. The "stakes" or the outcome could be high. Emotions can be a factor that "derails" the conversation. |
